Simply the Best - The Tina Turner Story
Valerie was part of the show's ensemble, a journey through five decades of music history of the rock icon and Tina Turner's greatest hits. With a lot of passion and a great deal of humor she embodied one of the three strong-voiced and dance-happy background singers of The Ikettes. In 2020, the show was named Best Musical Tribute Show at the Reel Awards in Las Vegas.
The musical is a tribute to the black musicians of the 1920s and 1930s who were part of the Harlem Renaissance, an era of growing creativity, cultural awareness, and ethnic pride, and takes its title from the 1929 Waller song Ain't Misbehavin.
The successful musical is a powerful celebration to the powerful female voices of the 1960s. The story is told from the perspective of six women who sing their way through the most iconic songs of this most extraordinary decade.
Jesus Christ Superstar
